In a tragic incident on Friday, a passenger plane carrying 62 people crashed on the outskirts of São Paulo, Brazil.

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva expressed his deep concern, stating that it "appears" all those on board may have perished.

The aircraft, operated by Voepass Linhas Aéreas, was en route from Cascavel, Paraná, to São Paulo when the devastating event occurred.

The airline released a statement noting that the exact cause of the accident and the status of the passengers remain unconfirmed.

However, early data from Flightradar24 reveals that the aircraft began to lose altitude about a minute and a half before the crash.

Initially cruising at 17,000 feet, the plane experienced a sudden descent of 250 feet in just 10 seconds at 1:21 p.m.

Local time.

It briefly regained 400 feet, only to lose nearly 2,000 feet in the following eight seconds.

Within a minute, the plane had plummeted 17,000 feet, with the final data transmission occurring at 1:22 p.m.

Local time.
