Kolkata RG Kar Hospital Case: Doctor Protests On The Streets of Delhi-NCR, Demands Justice-Security
Medical services in Delhi hospitals remain suspended for the sixth consecutive day due to ongoing protests by medical professionals.
The protests, initiated by the Indian Medical Association, are in support of justice for a trainee doctor who was raped and murdered in Kolkata.
Doctors from multiple hospitals, including AIIMS, RML Hospital, and DDU Hospital, have organized candlelight vigils and marches, severely affecting regular medical services in the capital.
A 24-hour nationwide medical strike has begun in India, protesting the Rape and Murder of a trainee doctor in Kolkata. Over a million doctors are expected to participate, causing widespread disruption to non-emergency medical services. The strike, which started at 6am Saturday, has led hospitals to turn away non-critical patients. Emergency services remain operational. We assessed the situation in Madhya Pradesh’ cities, Bhopa, Satna and Indore.
