Fire at London's Somerset House contained, venue to remain closed until further notice
The venue's Courtauld Gallery is home to artworks such as Vincent Van Gogh's 'Self-Portrait with Bandaged Ear' and 'The Descent From The Cross' by Peter Paul Rubens but the blaze broke out on the opposite side of the Georgian-era complex.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, according to authorities. The entire site was closed to the public and traffic in the surrounding area is expected to be impacted.

Around 100 firefighters are at Somerset House, in central London after smoke was spotted streaming from the building. Fifteen fire engines and two of the London Fire Brigade's 32m ladders have been sent to The Strand to support firefighters. Crews are tackling flames located in part of the buildings roof.
