Ukrainian Shelling Destroys Belgorod: Five Civilians Dead and Dozens Injured in Pre-Dawn Assault
In a dramatic escalation of the conflict, Ukrainian shelling targeted the settlement of Rakitnoye in Russia's Belgorod Region, resulting in five civilian deaths and injuries to twelve others, including three children.
The pre-dawn assault, described by Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov as a “brutal terrorist strike,” caused extensive damage, including the destruction of private homes, vehicles, and vital infrastructure.
A gas pipeline was ruptured, leaving three nearby communities without gas, and power lines were also damaged.
Emergency services have been deployed to address the damages and provide medical aid to the injured, four of whom are in severe condition.
The attack highlights the ongoing intensity of the conflict and the significant impact on civilian infrastructure and safety in the region.
Ukraine launches a massive overnight raid into the border regions of Russia. Over 100 drones fired into the Russian regions of Bryansk, Kursk, Belgorod, Crimea, and the Black Sea Area. One civilian was killed and one more injured as the drones hit the city infrastructure in Bryansk. The strike Ukraine comes a day after Russia launched over 150 drones into 6 Ukrainian regions, and also just days after Putin’s claim of Russia recapturing Kursk.
