Supermayor’s $100,000+ Spending Spree: Taxpayers Fund Lavish “Conferences”

Dolton Mayor Tiffany Henyard is under scrutiny for spending tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars on lavish trips and luxury expenses, as revealed by newly released credit card statements.

Despite attempts to withhold these records, a Cook County judge ordered their release, exposing $33,920 in questionable charges over a five-month period.

These include first-class flights, upscale hotels, and expensive meals, all during trips to cities like New York and Austin.

Trustee Tammie Brown, who opposes Henyard, criticized the mayor for hiding the expenses from the board.

Henyard’s administration has deflected responsibility, with her attorney blaming a top aide for the spending.

This case highlights ongoing concerns about fiscal mismanagement and government accountability in Dolton, further fueling debates about transparency and leadership in local government.
