A magnitude 5.4 earthquake struck near Faizabad, Afghanistan, on August 29, 2024, at 9:56 AM local time.
The quake, reported by the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) and the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), had a depth of 215 km.
Tremors were felt in Jammu-Kashmir, including Baramulla, though no injuries or damage were reported.
Nearby regions like Pakistan and Tajikistan might have also experienced weak shaking.
