Putin Accuses US of Power Grab: ‘Dominance at Any Cost’ Threatens Global Stability
Russian President Vladimir Putin has criticised the United States for its aggressive pursuit of global dominance, claiming it poses a threat to global security and balance.
Speaking during the launch of Russia’s largest-ever maritime exercise, Ocean-2024, Putin emphasised the need for Russia to strengthen ties with friendly nations amid rising geopolitical tensions.
The exercise, running from September 10 to 16, features a significant military collaboration with China, including four Chinese vessels and 15 aircraft.
Putin accused the US of using Ukraine to undermine Russia and maintain its military and political dominance at any cost.
Russian missiles rained down on Odesa’s historic center, striking a UNESCO World Heritage Site and leaving devastation in their wake. Among those caught in the deadly attack were Norwegian diplomats, who found themselves in the "epicenter of the strike," according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The powerful explosions shattered the iconic Hotel Bristol, severely damaging the Odesa Philharmonic concert hall and nearby museums. Seven people were injured, and emergency crews remain at the scene. As Ukraine pleads for stronger air defenses, the attack has intensified global outrage over Russia’s continued assaults on civilian infrastructure.
