Domestic abuse experts to be embedded in 999 control rooms
The first wave of police forces will start embedding domestic abuse specialists in their 999 control rooms early next year to stop emergency services missing opportunities to save womenâs lives.
The move is part of âRaneemâs Lawâ, named after Raneem Oudeh, to transform the way the police handle cases of violence against women and girls.

57-year-old Brian Whitelock has been jailed for life without parole for murdering his neighbour Wendy Buckney in a savage attack in her own home. Whitelock was released from prison in December 2018 after being deemed a low risk by the Parole Board, having served 18 years over a separate double killing of his friend and brother.
