‘Fraud by Ukrainian Puppets’: Putin Refuses to Attend Zelensky’s Peace Summit For the Second Time
Russia has declined an invitation to attend the second Ukrainian-organised "peace summit" set for later this year, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova announced.
According to Zakharova, the summit is based on Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s “peace formula,” which she claims aims to impose an ultimatum on Moscow rather than seek genuine diplomatic progress.
On Friday, Zelensky called on Western nations to support Ukraine in organising the event, with hopes of resolving the ongoing conflict by 2024.
While he expressed a desire for Russia to be included in the negotiations, Zakharova dismissed the summit as a “fraud orchestrated by the Anglo-Saxons and their Ukrainian puppets.”

The US presidential debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris lacked substance and was largely irrelevant considering that their country is going full speed ahead towards disaster, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has argued. Speaking on Radio Sputnik on Wednesday, she said she did not consider it a high-profile event. It mattered as much as the outcome of a hypothetical wrestling match on board the ill-fated Titanic during its trip across the Atlantic Ocean, she claimed. ”Who do you think won? Why would that matter? The iceberg is 15 minutes away,” she said.

Russian diplomat claims Ukraine's incursion into Kursk Region has ended prospects for peace talks. The attacks, described as "terrorist actions" against civilians, are seen as a deliberate strategy by Kiev to spread fear. Ukrainian officials frame the offensive as "just force" for "just peace". Western nations support Ukraine's actions as self-defense. Russian President Putin has ruled out negotiations, while Maria Zakharova urges the UN to label Ukraine's actions as terrorism.

In a fiery exchange reflecting the deepening rift between Kyiv and Moscow, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov labelled Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's recent remarks as “delusional.” This statement came in response to Zelensky's assertion during his address to the UN Security Council that Moscow could be forced into peace on Ukraine’s terms. Peskov vehemently rejected this notion, warning that attempting to coerce Russia into peace is a "fatal mistake" that will have serious repercussions for Ukraine.

A Western nation backing Ukraine is reportedly considering diplomatic talks with Russian President Putin, as officials remain skeptical of Zelensky’s ‘victory plan,’ viewing it as unrealistic. Zelensky, opposed to peace talks, seeks NATO guarantees, financial support, and permission to strike Russian targets. Moscow warns such actions would be seen as a NATO act of war. Potential talks may take place before the G20 meeting in November, amid ongoing tensions.
