Eric Stonestreet Calls ABC's Rejection of Modern Family Spinoff Hurtful
Eric Stonestreet, who played the lovable character Cameron Tucker on the hit series Modern Family, recently shared his feelings about ABC rejecting the spinoff idea.
Stonestreet expressed that it felt a little hurtful when ABC turned down the opportunity to continue the story of Cameron, Mitchell, and their daughter Lily as they embarked on a new journey in Missouri.
The spinoff had the support of Modern Family co-creator Chris Lloyd, and a script had already been written.
Unfortunately, ABC made the decision not to move forward with the project.
Despite the disappointment, Stonestreet emphasized his love for his character, the show, and his co-star Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
He mentioned the great working relationship he had with Ferguson and the amazing chemistry they shared onscreen.
Stonestreet also acknowledged that business decisions are sometimes made that may not align with personal desires.
He remains grateful for the opportunity to play Cameron and be a part of such a successful show.
