Donald Trump’s controversial proposal to purchase Greenland from Denmark has sparked intense debate across the United States. The former president, citing national security reasons, revived the idea in his latest political moves, despite the pushback from many corners. A recent USA TODAY poll reveals that only 11% of Americans fully support the idea, while 29% think it's a good but unrealistic notion. In stark contrast, 53% of respondents opposed the plan, with the division deepening across party lines — 86% of Democrats rejected the proposal, while only 23% of Republicans supported it.
