Colin Petersen, original drummer for the Bee Gees, dies at 78.

Colin Peterson, also nicknamed 'Smiley' for his role in the 1956 film of the same name, joined the legendary music group in 1966 alongside Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb, as well as Vince Melouney.

He played on six of the band's original albums, including 1966's Spicks and Specks , 1967's Bee Gees' 1st , 1968 records Horizontal and Idea , 1969's Odessa , and 1970's CucumberCastle .

Peterson departed from the band in 1970 after a conflict with manager Robert Stigwood.

His passing was confirmed by the 'Best of the Bee Gees' Facebook page on Monday, writing 'It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of our dear friend Colin 'Smiley' Petersen.

He enriched our lives and bound our group with love, care and respect.

Not sure how we can go on without his glowing smile and deep friendship.'

A cause of death has yet to be confirmed.

Part one of the pop icon's highly anticipated memoir has officially hit the shelves.

The 30-year-old podcast host revealed the exciting news on social media, posting an Instagram reel which features the moment she read the positive result as well as footage from a doctor's appointment.

Oshry captioned the sweet post, which was in collaboration with husband Ben Soffer, 'I'M HAVIN' HIS BAAABY!'

And set the clip to an instrumental track of Taylor Swift's popular song 'Never Grow Up.'

Oshry and Soffer, who have been married since 2017, expect to welcome the new baby in Spring of 2025.
