IPL Auction: Shreyas Iyer Smashes IPL Auction Records: Sold for Rs 26.75 Crore to Punjab Kings

Shreyas Iyer has created history at the IPL 2025, fetching a massive Rs 26.75 crore from Punjab Kings.

The 29-year-old, who led Kolkata Knight Riders to their third IPL title, was involved in an intense bidding war between KKR, Delhi Capitals, and Punjab Kings, ultimately clinching the record-breaking deal.

Iyer, who missed the entire IPL 2023 season due to injury, returned to form with a stunning performance in the 2024 season, amassing 351 runs in 14 matches.

Known for his leadership and explosive batting, Iyer has a total of 3127 IPL runs from 115 matches, along with impressive T20I numbers of 1104 runs from 47 innings.

His strong form in domestic cricket, including three Syed Mushtaq Ali hundreds, made him a hot property at the auction.
