Syria sends reinforcements to Aleppo region after surprise rebel attack
Syria's military rushed in reinforcements on Sunday to push back insurgents from advancing farther into the northern Hama countryside after they seized Aleppo.
At the 17th BRICS Summit in Rio, Turkey's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan delivered a chilling warning: Israel’s unchecked aggression could spiral into global instability. Fidan accused Tel Aviv of reversing decades of development through its war in Gaza and said multilateral institutions are now facing a legitimacy crisis.
He called on the international community to act before it’s too late. His warning came amid growing BRICS concerns over AI weaponization, global peace, and economic fairness. Fidan alleged that Israel has used artificial intelligence as a tool of warfare, fueling unrest from Gaza to Yemen. With over 57,000 dead in Gaza and rising tensions across Lebanon, Syria, and Iran, BRICS leaders are urging urgent reforms. The summit, already focused on AI governance and peacekeeping, now confronts the fallout of Israel’s regional ambitions and the West’s blind eye.
