Ukraine Behind Attack on Putin’s Men in Syria? Jihadists Allegedly Trained by Ukrainian Forces
In a controversial claim, the Kyiv Post reports that Ukrainian military intelligence (HUR) allegedly trained Islamist groups in Syria’s Idlib province, aiding them in attacking Russian forces.
The Khimik Group, an HUR Special Forces unit, reportedly provided operational training and tactics, including the use of drones.
Militants, led by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, recently launched their largest offensive in years, capturing parts of Aleppo before being pushed back by Syrian and Russian forces.
Moscow has not officially commented on the alleged involvement of Ukrainian operatives in Syria.
The development raises concerns over escalating proxy conflicts in the region.

Ukraine agreed to a month-long ceasefire only if Russia abides by it, Kyiv said. Although Moscow's stance on the proposal is rather unclear, the Kremlin's demands have always been known.
