Despite Hezbollah's earlier role in supporting Syrian forces, particularly in the fight against rebels, it is not ready to commit forces in the current escalation, reportedly due to the strain from its ongoing war with Israel.
The Syrian military, supported by Russian allies, has launched a devastating offensive against Takfiri militants in the northern regions of Hama, Aleppo, and Idlib, delivering a crushing blow to terrorist networks. The operation resulted in the elimination of approximately 320 jihadists, including top leaders of the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) group, and the destruction of 12 terrorist bases and ammunition depots. In a significant development, Syrian forces successfully retook the strategic highway linking Mahardeh and Suqaylabiyah near Hama, alongside surrounding towns and villages.
