A Ukrainian soldier, Gorbatko Vladimir, has revealed shocking details about his deployment to the Russian-held Kursk region.
In a chilling account, he described how he and his comrades were deceived by their commanders into believing they were only tasked with guarding a position for three days.
Unaware they were being sent to Russian territory, the soldiers arrived in Kursk and quickly realized they had been misled.
In an interview published on Tuesday, the Ukrainian president said that he would be willing to sit at the negotiating table with his Russian counterpart, if that was the only to "bring peace to the citizens of Ukraine and not lose people."
