Syrian government services come to a 'complete halt' as state workers stay home after rebel takeover
The public sector “has just come to a complete and abrupt halt," said U.N.
Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator for Syria Adam Abdelmoula, noting, for example, that an aid flight carrying urgently needed medical supplies had been put on hold after aviation employees abandoned their jobs.
In a significant escalation, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched targeted strikes on Hezbollah positions in Lebanon, including a rocket launcher site, military bases, and smuggling routes near the Syria-Lebanon border. The strikes come amidst concerns over Hezbollah's efforts to rebuild its forces in violation of the recent ceasefire agreement.
