Compensation for water supply problems to double next year
Water companies will have to pay higher compensation to customers in England who suffer from problems including sewer flooding or low water pressure.
Shadow housing minister David Simmonds welcomed the new rules set out on Tuesday by the government, saying: "there have been recent examples where water companies have simply failed to ensure and appropriate and safe water supply for people for far too long and it's right when that happens that they should be compensated".
