Six filmmakers come together for the second annual Hollywood Reporter roundtable at the Red Sea International Film Festival (RSIFF) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia including RSIFF 2024 jury president Spike Lee, Lawrence Valin, Hala Elkoussy, Meshal Al Jaser, R.T.
Thorne and Sarah Friedland.
The filmmakers talk creative influences, the importance of music, why words are "overrated" and the lasting appeal of 'Do the Right Thing.'
The U.S. Supreme Court has upheld a law effectively subjecting TikTok to a national ban on Sunday. The massively popular social media platform that is used by roughly half the country will be shut down, unless there's an 11th-hour lifeline from President-elect Donald Trump, who has said he can reach a deal to rescue the app. The Hollywood Reporter spoke to TikTok creators and asked how they're feeling about the Supreme Court's decision.

David Lynch, the writer-director whose film and TV work included 'Blue Velvet,' 'Mulholland Drive' and 'Twin Peaks,' has died. He was 78. Lynch's death was announced on his Facebook page. The post read, "It is with deep regret that we, his family, announce the passing of the man and the artist, David Lynch. We would appreciate some privacy at this time. There's a big hole in the world now that he's no longer with us. But, as he would say, 'Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.' It's a beautiful day with golden sunshine and blue skies all the way."

The first trailer for 'Daredevil: Born Again' is here. The show sees Charlie Cox return as Matt Murdock, attorney by day and vigilante by night, while Vince D'Onofrio once again plays Wilson Fisk aka the super villain Kingpin. Severe flooding has hit Saudi Arabia, particularly in Mecca, Jeddah, and Madinah, after record-breaking rainfall caused widespread destruction. Torrential downpours have turned streets into rivers, submerging cars, flooding highways, and causing major disruptions. The Saudi Meteorological Department issued a red alert for these cities as water levels reached dangerous heights. Footage from the affected regions shows scenes of cars almost completely submerged, with only the tops of their roofs visible above the water. In Jeddah, a city already prone to flooding, residents were seen abandoning their vehicles and scrambling to safety as water inundated streets. Similar scenes were recorded in Mecca, including the holy city's streets, which have become impassable.
