Environmental campaign group Just Stop Oil held their 'final protest' since announcing they will stop direct action, claiming it has won its demand to end new oil and gas.
The group had drawn attention, criticism and jail terms for protests ranging from throwing soup on Vincent van Gogh’s Sunflowers and spray painting Charles Darwin’s grave to climbing on gantries over the M25.

Laurence Fox has pleaded "not guilty" for the sharing of a photo of TV star Narinder Kaur on social media.
The actor-turned-politician appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court on Friday charged with two counts under the Sexual Offences Act 2003.
Fox, of Peldon in Essex, is alleged to have shared a compromising image in a tweet posted in April 2024 of Kaur, 52, who appears regularly on Good Morning Britain and has previously appeared on GB News.

Ceramic poppies will return to the Tower of London in a new commemorative display marking 80 years since the end of the Second World War. Opening on 6 May 2025 and running through to Armistice Day in November, the display will feature nearly 30,000 ceramic poppies from the original 2014 installation, ‘Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red’. The artwork transformed the Tower’s moat into a sea of red, attracting more than five million visitors and becoming a national site of remembrance.

The Duchess of Edinburgh attended a Thanksgiving service at Westminster Abbey marking Anzac Day. The service was one of a string of events attended by Sophie, after she visited the Australian War Memorial at Hyde Park Corner early Friday morning. Sophie was representing King Charles III at the commemorations marking the sacrifices of Australian and New Zealand forces.
