Palestinian statistics bureau projects Gaza population down by 6% since start of war
The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics says Gaza's population has declined by around 160,000, including over 55,000 presumed dead and 100,000 people that have left Gaza since 7 October, 2023.
The conflict in Gaza intensifies as the Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, claim to have targeted five Israeli tanks in northern Gaza. This dramatic escalation comes amidst relentless bombardments that have left dozens dead and critical infrastructure destroyed. Visuals of smoke, fire, and the aftermath of the strikes paint a grim picture of the ongoing devastation. With peace talks in limbo, the humanitarian crisis deepens as hospitals crumble under the strain. What lies ahead for the region?
