Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp has weighed in on talks of a Ukraine peace deal. When asked what he made of the discussions between President Trump and Keir Starmer, Mr Philp said: "We need to have ironclad security guarantees to make sure there is no chance Putin and Russia can invade any territories under Ukrainian control."

Chris Philp has supported calls for a public inquiry into the anti-terror programme 'Prevent'. It comes as the daughter of the late Sir David Amess, a Conservative MP who was murdered during a constitutency surgery in 2021, said she believes the Southport attacks may not have happened if there had been a full public inquiry into her father's death three years ago. 18-year-old Hassan Sentamu has been sentenced to at least 23 years for murdering 15-year-old Elianne Andam in Croydon.
