Hamas Releases Israeli Hostages. In a shocking display, Hamas paraded released Israeli hostages on stage in Gaza before handing them over to the Red Cross. The dramatic footage shows Hamas militants, armed with Israeli weapons, escorting captives in Rafah as part of the final phase of the first hostage exchange deal. Among those released are Avera Mengistu, held since 2014, and Tal Shoham, who was abducted with his family during the October 7 attack. Four more hostages—Omer Shem-Tov, Eliya Cohen, Omer Wenkert, and Hisham Al-Sayed—are expected to be freed later in Nuseirat.
