Gang who used Grindr to trap and rob victims jailed
Five men who trapped their victims through the dating app Grindr have been jailed after being convicted of a series of violent robberies.
Demalji Hadza (21), Abubaker Alezawy (21), Ali Hassan (20), Wasim Omar (24), and Mohammed Sharif (22) have been jailed at Birmingham Crown Court for a combined 78 years and seven months.

It’s been four years since then-first minister Nicola Sturgeon called Scotland’s drug deaths problem a public health emergency. Today, the current first minister John Swinney arrived at The Thistle drug consumption room in Glasgow. When it opens on Monday, it will be the first and only place in the UK where people will be able to take drugs without fear of arrest. Former Scotland rugby union captain Stuart Hogg has been sentenced to a community payback order after he admitted abusing his estranged wife, Gillian Hogg, over the course of five years. Sheriff Peter Paterson sentenced Hogg to a community payback order with one year of supervision and a second five-year non-harassment order when he appeared at Selkirk Sheriff Court for sentencing on Thursday. A major incident has been declared in Greater Manchester after severe rainfall on New Year’s Day caused widespread flooding. The mother of 23-year-old Kiena Dawes, who took her own life following domestic violence, says she is finding it “almost impossible” as her boyfriend, Ryan Wellings, is cleared of her manslaughter. Angela Dawes continues saying, "I honestly can't put into words how much it breaks my heart that her beautiful baby girl doesn't have her mummy here because of that monster".
