As part of the Israel-Hamas ceasefire deal, three American-Israeli hostages will be released in two phases, following over 15 months of captivity. The first phase will begin on January 19, with the release of 33 Israeli hostages and an undisclosed number of Palestinian prisoners. American hostages Sagui Dekel-Chen, Keith Siegel, and Edan Alexander will be freed, with Dekel-Chen and Siegel qualifying for immediate release due to injury and age.
