The fire, which started around 3:30 a.m.

Panicked guests were forced to jump out of windows as fire engines struggled to reach the remote resort due to the freezing weather.
Rescue operations involving 267 personnel continued through the morning, while authorities investigated whether guests were trapped inside their rooms. The hotel, bustling with vacationers for the school holiday season, was operating at full capacity when the tragedy struck.
