U.S Border Rossings Plummet Over 50% In Trump's Second Term, Down From Biden's Final Days

The first week of President Trump’s second term saw a significant drop in illegal border crossings.

On January 26, U.S. Border Patrol logged just 582 encounters, a steep decline from the final days of the Biden administration, where daily encounters ranged between 1,200 and 1,400.

The Del Rio sector, which had witnessed more than 4,000 daily crossings in December 2023, recorded only 60 crossings.

These developments come after Trump’s inauguration pledge to declare a national emergency and send troops to the border to halt illegal immigration.
