Massive waves pound Peruvian coastUnusually large waves hit the coasts of Peru, Ecuador and Chile, causing considerable damage and loss of life.
Large waves kill three people and close ports in Ecuador, Chile and PeruFishing boats capsized along the Peruvian coastline as waves were reported to be as high as four metres. Dozens of ports also had to be closed.
