European Investment Bank president Nadia Calviño said Ukraine was “our top priority right now,” adding that the bank and Ukraine had signed “agreements to mobilise around €1 billion in investment in the public sector and in the private sector."
The Kremlin has confirmed that Russian President Vladimir Putin has not extended the Easter ceasefire with Ukraine, which was set to end at midnight on April 21. Despite Putin's initial announcement for a 30-hour truce, both Russia and Ukraine accused each other of multiple violations during the pause. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov clarified that no additional orders were given to prolong the ceasefire. Ukrainian President Zelensky indicated willingness to extend the truce if Moscow adhered to the terms, but both sides reported hundreds of attacks during the declared pause in hostilities.

Russia-Ukraine Ceasefire: Russia’s sudden announcement of a 30-hour Easter ceasefire has been met with outrage and deep suspicion in Ukraine. Citizens across Kyiv and other cities have rejected the so-called truce, calling it a deceptive move by the Kremlin to regroup and reload. Many Ukrainians label the ceasefire a propaganda stunt, insisting that “terrorists cannot be trusted” and warning that such pauses often precede intensified attacks. As missiles continue to fall in some regions, trust in Moscow’s intentions is nonexistent, and fears of a post-ceasefire assault loom large.
