This number looms even larger as many Pacific Islander nations are majority-populated by Melanesians, Polynesians, and Papuans, all of whom are of predominantly African genetic lineage, their genetic roots blended with Asian and European voyagers in recent centuries.
Culturally, many Pacific Islanders have retained a significant resemblance to root African social patterns.
