Patti Smith to Depart on Horses Anniversary Tour, New York Dolls' David Johansen Diagnosed with Cancer, National Guitar Day and

Patti Smith announces Horses 50th anniversary tour 50 years after releasing her debut album Horses , musician Patti Smith is hitting the road again.

The singer will play shows across the United Kingdom, Europe, and the United States through October and November of this year, stopping in 16 cities total.

Smith will perform tracks from her 1975 album at each performance alongside guitarist Lenny Kaye and drummer Jay Dee Daugherty, each of whom performed on the original album recording.

Presale for the tour kicks off tomorrow with general on sale beginning February 14.

New York Dolls frontman David Johansen diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and brain tumor The voice of legendary punk band the New York Dolls has been battling stage 4 cancer for the better part of the last decade according to a statement made by daughter Leah.

In an effort to raise money for her father's treatment alongside the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, she shared details of her father's diagnosis as well as his battle, writing 'Five years ago at the beginning of the pandemic we discovered that David's cancer had progressed and he had a brain tumor.

There have been complications ever since.

He's never made his diagnosis public, as he and my mother Mara are generally very private people, but we feel compelled to share this now, due to the increasingly severe financial burden our family is facing.'

Johansen also suffered a broken back after taking a fall the day after Thanksgiving.
