INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS Movie Clip - Fare Thee Well New York's 1960s folk scene is at the heart of both dramas, with James Mangold's version focused on the groundbreaking success of one musician while the Coen brothers spotlight the challenging journey of another.

Their 2013 masterpiece is bookended with a scene where newcomer Bob Dylan takes to the famous Gaslight Cafe stage – a night that skyrocketed his career.

Llewyn Davis didn't make it, but A Complete Unknown did.

Set against the backdrop of the flourishing music scene in 1961 Greenwich Village, Llewyn Davis is a penniless folk singer and perennial couch surfer.

As he tries to rescue his career to avoid joining the merchant navy, he embarks on a journey of self discovery, involuntarily leaving numerous people - including angry ex-girlfriends, family members and musician buddies - in his wake.

The film won the Grand Prix award at Cannes Film Festival in 2013 and was nominated for two Oscars.
