Child protection or censorship? The legal battle between the Court of Justice of the EU and Hungary
Necessary for some, discriminatory for others, Hungary's so-called “child protection law” has been the subject of a hearing at the Court of Justice of the European Union.
Whatever its nature, the ruling could further determine the already tense relationship between Hungary and its EU partners.
World War III Soon? Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó has sounded the alarm, accusing Brussels of secretly preparing for war while hiding behind a "failed pro-war policy." His remarks come after the European Commission advised citizens to stockpile essential supplies for at least 72 hours, fueling fears of an impending crisis. Szijjártó ridiculed the advisory, calling it absurd and questioning why, in the 21st century, Europeans should be bracing for survival scenarios. He warned that the EU's obsession with military escalation is dragging the continent closer to disaster, even as U.S. President Donald Trump pushes for a ceasefire and diplomatic resolution.
