Child protection or censorship? The legal battle between the Court of Justice of the EU and Hungary
Necessary for some, discriminatory for others, Hungary's so-called “child protection law” has been the subject of a hearing at the Court of Justice of the European Union.
Whatever its nature, the ruling could further determine the already tense relationship between Hungary and its EU partners.
At the Paris AI Summit, JD Vance, US Vice President, warned the EU about overregulation in AI. Criticizing Europe’s Digital Services Act (DSA) and GDPR, Vance argued that excessive regulation could stifle innovation. Praising the US’s "open regulatory environment," he reaffirmed America’s dominance in AI technology. He also took aim at authoritarian regimes, cautioning against partnerships that could harm global tech progress. Vance’s speech reinforced the US’s intent to lead the global AI race.
