Donatella Versace steps down from Creative Director role to become Chief Brand Ambassador.

After nearly three decades as Versace's Creative Director, Donatella Versace is stepping down to become the company's Chief Brand Ambassador.

The 69-year-old fashion mogul took over the role of Creative Director after the murder of her brother Gianni in 1997, continuing the family legacy and leading the brand to new heights.

Throughout her time in the position, Versace expanded the brand's reach globally, dressing A-list stars in signature designs at high-profile red carpets and events.

Her designs also graced the runway at Fashion Week events across Paris, New York, and Milan.

Versace confirmed the news in an Instagram post this morning, writing, 'I want to thank my incredible design team and all the employees at Versace that I have had the privilege of working with for over three decades.

It has been the greatest honor of my life to carry on my brother Gianni's legacy.

He was the true genius, but I hope I have some of his spirit and tenacity.'

Italian designer Dario Vitale will now hold the role of Creative Director.
