PAM AIN'T PLAYING! Cori Bush Husband INDICTED, $20K PPP Loan Fraud!
Cortney Merritts, husband of former U.S. Representative Cori Bush, has been indicted on two counts of wire fraud for allegedly misusing over $20,000 in COVID-19 relief funds.
Prosecutors assert that Merritts submitted fraudulent applications to the Small Business Administration (SBA) in 2020 and 2021, falsely claiming significant revenues and multiple employees for his businesses.
These misrepresentations enabled him to secure an $8,500 Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) and a $20,832 Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan, which were purportedly used for personal expenses.
Notably, Cori Bush, who lost her re-election bid in 2024, is not implicated in this case.
However, she previously faced scrutiny over campaign payments made to Merritts for security services, despite allegations that he lacked the necessary licensing.
