Heathrow CEO: Full operation expected to resume in morning
Heathrow's CEO says "a few" long-haul flights will take off tonight and that "full operation" will resume at the airport tomorrow morning.
Thomas Woldbye adds that he is "very sorry" to those whose travel plans have been affected by the substation fire that shut the UK's busiest airport and that the incident was one of "major severity".

The boss of Heathrow Airport says he is âabsolutely committedâ to ensuring lessons are learnt from the events which led to the closure of Europeâs busiest airport last month. Appearing before MPs on the Transport Select Committee, Thomas Woldbye also offered a âsincere apologyâ for the travel disruption caused to thousands of passengers during the one-day shutdown.

Simon Gallagher, founder of UK Network Services, said Heathrow could have had enough power from one live substation during the outage, but it would have taken hours to reconfigure the airport's network.
