Three years after President Putin's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the UK has announced its largest sanctions package since 2022. Over 100 new sanctions directly target individuals, companies, and financial institutions aiding Russia's war efforts. The package includes sanctions on military suppliers, shadow oil fleets, and foreign entities supporting Russia, including North Korean officials and banks in Central Asia. The UK government says these measures will disrupt Putin's war machine and strengthen Ukraine's defense.

Costa Rica repatriation efforts are underway as the country collaborates with the United States to facilitate the return of illegal migrants from Central Asia and India. This initiative makes Costa Rica the third Central American nation to support U.S. deportation policies under President Donald Trump's administration. The first batch of 200 migrants will arrive on Wednesday, funded by the U.S. government and overseen by the International Organization for Migration. Costa Rica's repatriation efforts highlight a growing regional partnership to address illegal immigration and streamline the deportation process.

The EU executive proposed in early March a five-point plan to rearm and reach defence readiness by 2030. In an exclusive interview, EU defence commissioner Andrius Kubilius told Euronews he expects member states to make use of options proposed in the plan instead of issuing more joint debt.
