China Slaps 34% Tariff on U.S. Imports in Retaliation to Trump’s Latest Trade Move
China announced a 34% tariff on all U.S. imports, directly responding to President Donald Trump’s recent hike on Chinese goods.
With Trump’s additional 34% tariff and earlier 20% duties, U.S. tariffs on some Chinese goods now total at least 54%.
China condemned the move as “unilateral bullying” and a threat to global supply chain stability.
Both tariffs take effect next week, escalating tensions between the world’s top economies and renewing fears of a prolonged trade war affecting global markets.
