This ‘Authentic’ Mexican Restaurant Misses the Mark – Don Bravo Review (Pembroke, MA)

Don Bravo in Pembroke, MA certainly looks and sounds the part of an authentic Mexican restaurant, with vibrant décor, lively music, and a familiar menu full of classic dishes—but sadly, the flavor doesn't live up to the promise.

While it may satisfy the palates of local New Englanders who prefer milder fare, those accustomed to the bold spices and layered complexity of true Mexican cuisine will likely walk away underwhelmed.

The taquitos and chicken tortilla soup were decent, and desserts like the flan and tres leches cake stood out as the best of the bunch, but even those felt just a notch above average.

The Burrito al Pastor and enchiladas rancheras, while serviceable, lacked the depth and punch that should define those dishes.

Don Bravo is a place with heart, but not enough heat.
