Tipra Motha calls for 12-hr bandh in Tripura's tribal areas on Sep 30 for 'Greater Tipraland' demand
Saturday, 23 September 2023 The Tipra Motha, the main opposition party in Tripura, has called for a 12-hour bandh in tribal areas of the state on September 30 to push for a constitutional solution to the demand for 'Greater Tipraland' statehood. The party aims to send a message to the Centre for an early resolution of their problems. The bandh will be observed in Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council areas.
On April 26, the nation will witness the crucial voting phase of the 2024 general elections. Across 13 states, a total of 89 Lok Sabha constituencies will be up for polling. The states participating in this phase include Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Rajasthan, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Jammu & Kashmir. It's a pivotal moment for democracy as citizens exercise their right to vote and shape the future of the nation.

Polling in 102 parliamentary seats across 21 states and Union Territories in the first phase of Lok Sabha Elections commenced at 7 am on April 19 and ended at 6 pm. Over 102 parliamentary constituencies in 21 states and union territories headed to the polling booth on Friday, including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, Puducherry, Lakshadweep, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. West Bengal recorded the highest turnout till 5 PM at 77.57 per cent, followed by Tripura at 76.10 per cent. Voter turnout in Assam stood at 70.77 per cent, while Manipur recorded a voter turnout of 68.58 per cent till 5 PM.
