Gurgaon Pollution: Air slips back to 'very poor' after two days

IndiaTimes Wednesday, 22 November 2023
The air quality in Gurgaon, India, deteriorated to 'very poor' as winds slowed down, undoing progress made the day before. The average air quality index (AQI) rose by 40% compared to the previous day. The wind speed decreased, leading to low dispersion of pollutants and higher pollution levels. The Supreme Court has criticized the NCR governments for failing to address winter pollution, and satellite data shows a significant number of farm fires contributing to the pollution. The situation is expected to worsen as temperatures drop and wind speed decreases further.
