Mosque panel moves SC against HC nod for survey

IndiaTimes Friday, 5 January 2024
The mosque management committee has filed a special leave petition (SLP) in the Supreme Court challenging the Allahabad high court's order that allowed the appointment of a court commissioner to conduct a survey of the premises in the Krishna Janmabhoomi-Shahi Idgah mosque row. The committee argues that the high court should have considered their plea to reject the plaintiffs' claims before deciding on other applications in the suit. They also dispute the plaintiffs' assertion regarding the location of Lord Krishna's birthplace and question the demand for an in-depth survey.
