Rs 6,000 crore allocated for strategic highway along China border

In keeping with govt’s priority of enhancing connectivity in border areas, road transport and highways ministry has allocated around Rs 6,000 crore for 11 different packages of the strategic Frontier Highway in Arunachal Pradesh that will run close to India-Tibet-China-Myanmar border. The work on this 1,748 km two-lane highway, which will be barely 20 km from the international border at several locations, will start by April this year.
