At US trial, Nadella hits out at 'dominant' Google

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella criticized Google's dominance in the search engine market during his testimony in a US court. He stated that Google's stronghold makes it difficult for rivals to emerge, citing their arrangements with Apple as a major obstacle. Nadella also supported the government's argument that Google's data intake and network effect give it an advantage over competitors. The ongoing trial is the largest US antitrust case against a big tech company since Microsoft's case over its Windows operating system two decades ago. Nadella expressed that distribution is crucial for a successful search engine and mentioned Microsoft's willingness to pay Apple to make Bing the default search engine on the iPhone.
