Bangladesh dengue outbreak: Death toll crosses 1000

Bangladesh is experiencing its worst recorded outbreak of dengue fever, with over 1,000 deaths and nearly 209,000 infections reported in the first nine months of 2023. Hospitals are struggling to accommodate the rapidly spreading disease in the densely populated country. Dengue, a mosquito-borne illness, causes high fevers, headaches, nausea, and in severe cases, bleeding that can be fatal.
