Russia has urged Israel to agree to a ceasefire in Gaza to allow in food and medicine, expressing concern over civilian casualties caused by the "indiscriminate" bombing. The Russian foreign ministry stated that Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and Hussein Al-Sheikh of the Palestine Liberation Organization agreed on the need for a ceasefire and the opening of human corridors to deliver aid.
