All registered political parties eligible to take part in polls: Pakistan PM
Saturday, 14 October 2023 Pakistan's interim Prime Minister, Anwaarul Haq Kakar, has stated that all political parties registered with the Election Commission of Pakistan will be allowed to participate in the upcoming election. This comes amid concerns about the fate of Imran Khan's party, the PTI, due to Khan's imprisonment. Kakar also ruled out talks with the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan and stated that Afghan nationals residing in Pakistan illegally will be sent back. He expressed a desire for healthy ties with Kabul, but highlighted that only a fraction of Afghan nationals are involved in adverse activities.
