Texas man executed after more than 30 years on death row

Brent Brewer, a Texas man who spent over 30 years on death row for a murder committed during a robbery when he was 19, was executed on Thursday. Brewer was sentenced to death in 1991 for fatally stabbing Robert Laminack during a robbery. Despite appeals for a stay of execution, Brewer's requests were denied. Brewer apologized to the victim's family in his last statement, expressing remorse for his actions. There have been six other executions in Texas this year and 20 in the United States.
