UNESCO criticised after Cambodia evicts thousands around World Heritage site Angkor Wat

Amnesty International has criticized UNESCO and its World Heritage program for failing to address the mass evictions taking place at Cambodia's Angkor Wat temple complex. The evictions, carried out by Cambodian authorities, have violated international and national law, with little to no compensation provided to the affected families. Amnesty accused UNESCO of disregarding UN guidelines and failing to intervene to protect the human right to housing.
